Vijay Kanwar is a visionary entrepreneur, dedicated philanthropist, and strategic leader committed to shaping stronger, healthier communities. He is the Founder of KMH Cardiology & Diagnostic Centres.

Beyond healthcare, Vijay has held prominent national leadership roles. He served as Chairman of the Board of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA),  chaired the Federal Advisory Committee on Senior Level Federal Retention and Compensation under the Treasury Board of Canada, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC).  He was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2006, Health Services Ontario) and received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2013) for community service.Vijay’s governance and philanthropy interests converge in his active roles with the MLSE Foundation and MLSE LaunchPad, where he helps unlock youth potential through sport, mentorship, and community investment. He uses his cross-sector experience to build bridges between health, education, and civic systems.

Vijay holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (BE) from Panjab University, an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School, and is designated as an ICD.D (Institute Certified Director).

His mission remains clear: to lead with integrity, to uplift through action, and to build systems that help people live longer, stronger, and with dignity.
