Freda Colbourne is a seasoned public relations and philanthropic strategy leader with deep experience advising high-profile organizations and charitable partners across Canada. Currently Freda serves as the Managing Director, Head of Corporate Affairs, Global Leadership Team at CPP Investments. Previously serving as the CEO of Edelman Public Relations, and an independent PR and philanthropy consultant, Freda has led national communications strategies, reputation management, and social impact initiatives for major brands and public-facing leaders, as well as advised Canadian philanthropists and charitable foundations in developing purpose-driven messaging, narrative clarity, and community investment strategies that drive real-world impact.

Freda is a graduate of the Rotman School of Management Board Governance Program, bringing strong governance, communications, and strategic advisory skills to her leadership and board work.

Freda is a strategic communications, change management and philanthropy consultant that advises C-suite executives, entrepreneurs, and boards of directors on how to solve their most important communications challenges.She previously served as the CEO of Edelman PR.
