In support of positive youth development, GoDaddy Canada announced a donation of $75,000 to MLSE Foundation’s Sport For Development space, MLSE LaunchPad, during a cheque presentation at the facility Thursday afternoon. Jill Schoolenberg, Vice President and Country Manager of GoDaddy Canada and Anne De Aragon, Senior Marketing Director of GoDaddy Canada presented the cheque to Tanya Mruck, Executive Director of MLSE LaunchPad, which will help support the facility’s “Ready for Work” pillar.
“At GoDaddy our goal is to help people with an idea get online and grow their ventures. People of all ages have amazing ideas they are passionate about and GoDaddy helps bring them to life,” said Jill Schoolenberg, Vice President and Country Manager of GoDaddy Canada. “Today, we’re honoured to present MLSE Foundation with a donation on behalf of GoDaddy Canada, supporting the youth generation, in hopes of empowering them to pursue their passion.”
GoDaddy Canada’s donation comes from sales generated through the Itty Bitty Ballers campaign, which ran during the 2016-17 NBA season. The donation will provide the necessary support to allow MLSE LaunchPad to collaborate with community organizations on “Ready for Work” programs. Multiple functions under the programming umbrella, including facility operations, coaching, mentoring, management, outreach efforts and equipment, will benefit as a result.
The “Ready for Work” programming helps broaden post-secondary success for youth facing barriers and increases opportunities into the labour market. “We are incredibly grateful for GoDaddy Canada’s generous donation, which will play a role in supporting positive youth development for the many MLSE LaunchPad members,” said Michael Bartlett, Executive Director of MLSE Foundation. “‘Ready for Work’ programming provides youth with hands-on employment training in skill oriented jobs, while enhancing soft skills and job readiness through sport.”
“GoDaddy Canada’s generosity will help enhance programs within our space by providing resources to our partner organizations. This will include free space for programming, access to trained coaches and tailored community outreach support,” said Tanya Mruck, Executive Director of MLSE LaunchPad. “We are proud to partner with GoDaddy Canada to deliver innovative programs.”
