Canada’s sport and recreation infrastructure is in a state of physical decline. Sixty-seven per cent of current facilities need to be repaired or replaced. (Active Healthy Kids Canada Report Card, 2012).
Since launching in December 2009, MLSE Foundation has revitalized 49 athletic facilities in the Greater Toronto Area, shaping the lives of kids by enabling participation in the sports we all love. By putting in top-quality facilities on our priority list, we are showing these communities that they are important to us and that their kids deserve to play on the very best.
Athletic facilities are the heart of a community. Every kid should have an athletic facility within walking distance because when kids play sports, it leads to social change.
